Room recently refurbished and redecorated in a very nice way.
Great food and friendly staff. Rooms have all recently been refurbished and are of a high standard. Excellent food in bar with a nice big open fire.
Music in bar at night was loud pop music. Something more traditional would have been more suitable.
I liked the location, the friendly staff and the hospitality.
If you are approaching this hotel from the North on the A82, beware. You will have to drive all around Loch Lomond in order to get there! This is an enormous detour, which can take you up to 1 hour! We would have cancelled our reservation because of this, but we woud have lost the money we paid!
The views / location are perfect, making it a relaxing escape away from home.
Very relaxed and friendly staff. Offered to keep a hot meal for us as we arrived later than expected. Rooms and restaurant newly refurbished and very nice.
No complaints about the actual hotel, but it was more remote than we had expected. Great for walkers but a bit too far off the beaten track for a touring holiday.
The location was stunning and the staff were courteous, helpful and welcoming.A Really enjoyable stay and one I will remember for all the right reasons.
Dog friendly lochside location
I felt the staff were very friendly and eager to offer assistance when needed. The location was ideal for us as we are both hill walkers and access to the hills was right on the doorstep
Did not like having to have dinner in the public bar as the hotel restraunt was not available during our stay. The room we had was right above the kitchen and very hot, however the staff did provide a fan when requested
We got a room above the kitchen which was very noisy due to the ventilation system.
Very nice and clean, great value for price, generous bathroom
The room was gorgeous.
The website was out of date and bar staff were not too friendly or helpful.
Rowardennan hotel is a small hotel right on the edge of Loch Lomond, it is remote as there isnt any shops or restaurants/bars the nearest place is at Ballmaha.. Without a car it is a little difficult to get to the hotel as there are no buses once you leave Ballmaha, most people who come here are walkers so would not have a problem with the long walk from Ballmaha to Rowardennan as it is part of the West Highland Way, if u are not a walker by that I mean if your not used to walking long distances over rugged pathways etc and without transport like me be prepared for a 2 hour walk there and back but its a pretty walk passing the Loch and woodlands or you can stay on the road. Rowardennan Hotel stands right at the waters edge of Loch Lomond, it has 17 rooms, bar and restaurant, most of its visitors are walkers either on their way up the West Highland Way and Ben Lomond or comming back, so are either having a well earned rest with overnight accomodation or just stopping for food and drink, Food is good and decent portion size, all the menu is on chalk boards in the Clansmans bar and you just order and pay at the bar. If your there on a saturday night as I was there is normally live music in the shape of a folk singer or similar, in the Clansman bar. All the staff were friendly, the room i stayed in was at the front of the hotel and was very nicely decorated, I had a private bathroom for my sole use decorated to a high standard although this was not in the room but along the corridor, all other rooms are en suite.
We were celebrating our 23rd anniversery and wanted to climb ben lomond. The hotel was brilliant as were the staff our room was beautiful and very modern yet romantic, the bed was comfortable a great bonus to us,with provision of a tray for your walking boots etc. It was well placed at bottom of ben lomond, also has a small pebble beach on the loch it is very picturesque. The food was beautiful and not overpriced, the bar welcomes everyone boots, rucksacks and all,and you really could be anywhere in the world with all the different nationalities,in the pub. A brilliant hotel with genuinly helpful staff.
That we couldnt stay longer
Our room was very comforable and decorated to a high standard. A perfect place to relax after a hard day's walking - and with a good shower! We had a lovely view across the Loch and the food in the bar was good and hearty.
Room very spacious, clean and comfortable. Dogs welcome. Meals and breakfast excellent, good value for money.
